These terms govern your use of PolicyReady ("the app"), published by Baker Ventures LLC. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
PolicyReady is a self-assessment organizational tool, not advice. Specifically:
The questionnaire is a curated general set drawn from publicly published material (CISA's Cross-Sector Cybersecurity Performance Goals, NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, CIS Critical Security Controls v8, and the FBI IC3 report for loss-driver context). It is not a reproduction of any particular insurer's actual application, and the wording, definitions, and scope of a real application will differ. The insurer's own application and its definitions always govern. Confirm every answer against the actual application before you submit it.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your answers and of anything you export and send onward. Insurance applications are commonly signed under a representation that the answers are true; misstating a control on a real application can affect a claim. The app cannot verify any answer and does not try to — it reports an unanswered control honestly as "not yet assessed" rather than guessing, and the rest is what you told it.
The app requires no account, no sign-in, and no personal details. Everything you enter is stored only on your own device, and the app makes no network requests. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail, including deletion.
Because the data lives only on your device, you are responsible for keeping it. If you lose the device, uninstall the app, or reset it, the data is gone — we have no copy and cannot restore anything.
The app can render a summary of your answers as a PDF or plain text and hand it to your device's standard share sheet. Where you send it is your decision and your responsibility; anything you share with a broker, underwriter, or anyone else leaves the app's control at that moment.
The app is free, and it contains no in-app purchase. The questionnaire, the readiness score, the per-category breakdown, the prioritized gap list and the exportable summary are all available to everyone at no charge. There is no paid tier and no subscription: the app has nothing to sell you, takes no payment, and never asks for card or billing details. Nothing in it is locked, so there is nothing to unlock and no purchase to restore. If that ever changes, these terms will be updated to say exactly what changed before it takes effect.
Use the app for assessing a business you own, run, or advise. Do not reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or its questionnaire content, and do not use it to make any representation on behalf of Baker Ventures LLC.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the questionnaire matches any insurer's application, that the guidance is current, or that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Baker Ventures LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost data, denied or reduced insurance claim, declined or rescinded coverage, regulatory finding, or security incident, arising out of or relating to your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or US $50.
We may update these terms. The date above will change, and material changes will be described in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
