Nearvo (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a couples app for daily connection, communication and conflict skills, and sexual intimacy, operated by Baker Ventures LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it. It’s written to match exactly what the app does — not a generic template.
Nearvo is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We never store profile data for anyone who does not pass the age check.
| Data | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Email address | Sign-in (magic link) |
| First name, pronouns | Shown to your partner; used so the app addresses you correctly |
| Avatar | Shown to your partner (optional) |
| Birthdate | 18+ age verification only |
| Timezone, language | Sends your daily prompt at the right local time, in the right language |
| Notification time | The reminder hour you chose |
Your answers to onboarding questions drive your personalized plan and content. One of these questions concerns comfort with sexual intimacy topics. We treat this as sensitive information under data protection law (for example, GDPR Article 9): we ask for your explicit, separately-withdrawable consent before using it, we exclude it from analytics entirely, and it is included in the account export and deletion tools described below.
When you pair with a partner, we store the connection between your two accounts, your relationship stage/anniversary, and your subscription status. Your account data is only ever visible to you and the partner you’re paired with — never to other users.
Everything in this section is visible to you and your partner and nobody else. It is removed when you delete your account, and the per-item notes say what happens if only one of you leaves.
If you use the coach, we store your conversation so you can come back to it. A conversation you start privately is private permanently — it cannot later be turned into a shared one, and your partner cannot read it. Your messages are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply; Anthropic does not use them to train models. Coach conversations are excluded from analytics and are deleted with your account.
If you block someone or report content, we store that so we can act on it. When our content filter stops something from being posted, we record which rule matched and how long the text was — never the text itself. Telling you something will not be posted and then keeping it would be worse than having no filter at all.
We use a small number of service providers to run the app. Each only receives what it needs to do its job, under its own privacy and security commitments:
| Provider | What it receives | What it’s for |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | All account and app data above | Database and authentication hosting |
| PostHog | Anonymous usage events (e.g. which onboarding step you’re on) — never your answer text | Product analytics |
| Sentry | Crash reports, device model, OS version | Crash and error diagnostics |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Your coach conversation, plus redacted context (categories and goals) — never your partner’s daily-question answers | The in-app coaching feature |
| RevenueCat | Purchase/subscription state | Subscription management |
| Expo (push notifications) | Push notification token | Delivering your daily reminder |
| Apple / Google | Purchase receipts, sign-in tokens | App Store / Play billing and sign-in |
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising purposes.
Each of these providers is contractually required to protect your data to the same standard set out in this policy. Every one is bound by a data processing agreement that permits them to use your data only to provide the service we have asked them for, and forbids them from using it for their own purposes, from selling it, and from training their own models on it. Where a provider is a parent, subsidiary or other related company of one of the others, the same terms apply to them.
No provider receives more than it needs. PostHog never receives the text of an answer, a note or a message. Sentry receives a crash report, not the screen you were on. Anthropic receives what you type to the coach, plus a redacted summary of categories and goals — never your partner’s daily-question answers or words. Sensitive-topic data is excluded from analytics entirely and is never sent to the coaching model.
Everything travels over TLS. Nothing in this app is sent over an unencrypted connection.
At rest, your data sits in a managed Postgres database with encrypted storage and encrypted automated backups. Access is governed row by row by database policies rather than by application code: the rule that you can see your own data and your partner’s shared data, and nobody else’s, is enforced by the database itself — so a bug in the app cannot hand somebody another couple’s answers.
Two protections are worth naming, because they cover the two places this app holds something unusually personal:
Sensitive-topic preferences and mood check-ins are excluded from analytics entirely, are never included in coaching context, and can never appear in an image the app produces for sharing.
Our own access to production data is limited to the people who need it to keep the service running and to answer support requests, and it is logged. We do not read your answers, notes or messages, and nothing in this app or our internal tooling is built to let us do so casually.
No system is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority as the law requires, without undue delay.
Nearvo is operated by Baker Ventures LLC, 355 E 1200 N, Logan, UT 84341, USA, which is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR and equivalent laws. You can reach us at hello@nearvo.net about anything on this page, including a request to access, correct, export or delete your data.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. This is a diary of a relationship, and one that quietly deleted last year would not be much of a diary.
When you delete your account, deletion means deletion. Your account and everything attached to it is removed from our live systems immediately and permanently. It is not frozen, deactivated, anonymised, or held in case you come back. There is no restore.
Database backups are kept on a rolling schedule and are never retained for more than 30 days. During that window a copy of your data may still exist inside a backup snapshot, because a backup that could be edited after the fact would not be a backup. Those snapshots are never used to repopulate a deleted account and are only ever restored wholesale in a disaster. Within 30 days of your deletion, no copy remains anywhere.
Two things outlive the account, and only these two. Records of a purchase are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires — a legal obligation we cannot waive on request. And aggregate, non-identifying counts (for example, how many couples finished onboarding in a given month) remain, because they contain nothing about any individual and cannot be traced back to one.
What happens to your partner’s data. Deleting your account does not delete theirs. Your own words go. Things that are theirs stay with them. Anything genuinely about the two of you jointly stays with whoever remains — except where a single item is personal data about you specifically, such as your birthday, which goes with your account even if they were the one who added it.
Nearvo is not directed at, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Nearvo is a relationship-skills app, not a mental health, crisis, or therapy service. We do not diagnose or treat any condition. If you or your partner are in crisis or unsafe, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your country.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR (including access, correction, deletion, and objection to processing) with respect to your personal data, which you can exercise using the controls above or by emailing us. If you are a California resident, you have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll notify you in the app before they take effect.
