Nearvo Support

Nearvo is an app for two people in a relationship: you both get the same question each day, you each answer it on your own, and the answers unlock together.
Please note. Nearvo is for adults 18 and over. It is not therapy and does not diagnose anything, and replies from the in-app coach are written by AI, not by a person or a therapist. If you or your partner are in crisis or unsafe, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line — safety resources are available in the app at any time, and Nearvo never reads what you write in order to decide whether to show them.
Frequently asked questions
- How do we pair up?
- From the Today tab while you're still on your own, or from the Us tab. One of you generates a six-character code — you can also show it as a QR code or send it as a link — and the other enters it. You'll know it worked when you both see the same question.
- Our code isn't working.
- Three things account for almost all of it, and the app says them on the pairing screen too. Codes last 7 days, so if yours is older than that, make a new one. A code only works once and only for one couple — if they already tapped it, they're in, so check the Today tab. And if the link opened a website instead of the app, they need to install Nearvo first, then type the code in by hand.
- Is that letter an I or a 1?
- Neither — codes never contain the letters I or O, or the digits 0 or 1. They're left out on purpose, because codes get read out loud and those characters are the ones people mishear.
- Why can't I see my partner's answer?
- Because you haven't written yours yet. Neither of you can read the other's answer until you've both answered, and then they unlock at the same moment. It isn't just hidden on screen — the rule is enforced in the database, so there's no version of the app that could show it early.
- I answered, but I can't tell whether they have.
- That's deliberate. The app doesn't tell you whether your partner has answered yet, because turning it into something you can check reintroduces exactly the pressure that answering separately is there to remove. You'll get a notification when their answer lands.
- Do I need a password?
- No. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a link we email you — and you can set a password later if you'd rather have one. There's no separate password reset: signing in with an emailed link is the reset.
- What exactly can my partner see?
- They can see your answers to the daily question once they've answered it too, your voice answers, your mood check-ins, memories, love notes, appreciations, your shared bucket list and dates, your first name, pronouns and photo, and any coach conversation you started with both of you in it. They cannot see your setup answers, a coach conversation you started privately, your private notes, anything you said no to, or a quiz result until they've taken the same quiz.
- What happens if we miss a day?
- Not much, on purpose. The app's own words when a run ends: "You had a run going, and now you don't. That says something about a calendar, not about the two of you. Today is a question like any other." There's a streak freeze each month, and a skip each week if a question isn't one you want today. Saying "not tonight" to a deep question is always free and unlimited — it's a safety valve, not a feature you run out of.
- How do I turn the daily reminder off, or change its time?
- The reminder time is set from the answer you gave during setup, and there isn't a control for it inside the app yet. To stop the reminders, turn notifications off for Nearvo in your device's own Settings. If you'd like it at a different hour, tell us and we'll pass it on — it's a change we know is needed.
- What is the coach, and where do my messages go?
- It's an in-app assistant you can talk to about your relationship. As the app says: replies here are written by AI, not by a person or a therapist. To write one, what you type is sent to Anthropic, which makes the model — and in a conversation with both of you in it, what you both type. Anthropic does not use it to train its models, and your daily answers and your notes are never sent. A conversation you start privately stays private permanently; it cannot later be turned into a shared one.
- How do we unpair?
- You → Unpair. In the app's words: "You'll both stop sharing questions straight away. You keep everything you wrote; you won't be able to read their answers any more, and they won't be able to read yours. Nothing is deleted." You can pair with someone new after 24 hours, and getting back together with each other works at any time — pair again and your history and streak come back.
- Can I get a copy of my data?
- Yes. You → Safety & reporting → Export my data. It deliberately leaves out your partner's own words — their answers and messages are their personal data rather than yours — but includes everything that is yours.
- How do I delete my account?
- You → Delete account, then type DELETE to confirm. It removes your account and everything in it, permanently; your partner will no longer see your answers, and it cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not delete theirs.
- We both want to subscribe — do we each pay?
- No. One subscription covers both of you. It stays with whoever bought it and covers the couple, and it survives pairing, unpairing and pairing again, so nobody loses access because the relationship status changed in the app.
- How do I restore a purchase?
- Restore purchases on the subscription screen, signed into the same Apple ID you bought with. If it says nothing was found and you believe that's wrong, send us a screenshot.
- The subscription screen shows no prices.
- That means we can't reach the store at that moment. The app deliberately shows nothing rather than a price it can't confirm — try again shortly. The daily question is free either way.
- How do I cancel, or get a refund?
- Billing is handled by the App Store, not by us. Cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Nearvo; you keep access until the period you've paid for ends. For a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
- What's free, and what isn't?
- Free and staying free: the daily question and the reveal, pairing, your streak, your timeline of past answers, voice answers, the weekly quiz, your connection-style result and comparing it with your partner's, and the first lesson of every course. A subscription adds the rest of the courses, the full quiz library, and a much higher daily limit on the coach.
- Is Nearvo suitable for us right now?
- It's a way to talk more often and more honestly, for adults 18 and over. It is not therapy, it does not diagnose anything, and it is not built for a couple in crisis — if that's where you are, a licensed couples therapist will help more than an app will. If you or your partner are unsafe, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line.
- Something's broken. How do I report it?
- Email us with your device and iOS version, what you were doing, what you expected versus what happened, and a screenshot with anything private blurred. If it's about pairing, include the code and roughly when it was made.
